Mid-South Golden Gloves
The Golden Gloves began in 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, expanded to New York City a year later, and evolved into the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions in 1928.
The Mid-South Golden Gloves started in 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee, and remains one of the oldest franchises in the organization. It features boxing teams from Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee, with each state sending its champions to compete for a regional title and a place in the national tournament.
Across its rich history, the Mid-South Golden Gloves has produced numerous National Golden Gloves champions, Olympic boxing team members, and professional world champions. The Golden Gloves remains one of the most prestigious events in amateur boxing.
